“CalorieSense”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to caloriesense.in/, operated by Freedom Media from Kolkata, India. Freedom Media is the data controller for personal data collected through this site. For privacy-related queries, write to privacy@caloriesense.in.

• Email address when you subscribe to a newsletter or download a resource (such as the free meal plan).
• Name if you choose to provide it on a sign-up or contact form.
• Message content: anything you write in our contact forms or email us.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, time on page, referring source, device type, browser, approximate location (city / country level).
• Cookies and similar technologies: explained in section 5.
• Server logs: IP address, request timestamp, error logs, kept for security and abuse-prevention purposes.

Information from third parties

• Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics) provide aggregated usage statistics.
• Advertising partners (e.g., Google AdSense) may share information about ad impressions and clicks.

We do not sell your personal data. Period. We may share data within the Freedom Media network only where strictly necessary to operate cross-property services (for example, a single newsletter subscriber may receive content from multiple Freedom Media properties if they have explicitly opted in). Otherwise, we share data only with service providers who help us run the site, and only to the extent they need it to do their job:

• Hosting providers (e.g., Hostinger) store the site and your data on secure servers.
• Email service providers deliver newsletters and resource emails on our behalf.
• Analytics providers like Google Analytics or similar, configured with IP anonymisation where supported.
• Advertising partners like Google AdSense and similar networks, governed by their own privacy policies.
• Legal and regulatory authorities only when required by valid legal process in India or in jurisdictions where we operate.

7. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe at any time, after which we remove the email from our active list within 30 days. Server logs are typically retained for 12 months.

CalorieSense is intended for adult readers. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected such data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, access controls, and regular software updates. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on the site and, where appropriate, communicated by email to subscribers. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
